SCOPE OF POSITION
This position conducts effective strategy and growth consulting engagements, provides planning consulting services and educational sessions for QHR managed and non-managed client hospitals. Lead strategy development, share knowledge and provide consultative support to QHR operational regions and client hospitals. Leads research efforts into health care issues impacting client hospitals’ strategic future. Develops new planning related products and services designed to meet the changing needs of QHR clients. Revises existing strategy material to remain current with latest healthcare initiatives, business evolution and analytic methodologies. Conduct market viability analyses in conjunction with other QHR consulting and operational groups.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Developing strategic plans, medical staff development plans, service line assessments, community benefit surveys, as well as other healthcare strategy and growth-oriented consulting engagements. Utilizes QHR standardized methodologies and tools to ensure high quality, consistent services to clients.
Provides effective healthcare strategy consulting services to managed and non-managed hospital clients. Properly scopes, gains buy-in as to goals of engagement, conducts engagement collaboratively with client team members, QHR regional staff (if QHR managed hospital) and other parties as appropriate, conducts logical data analysis and recommendations, communicates effectively, attains goals in agreed to timelines, and produces necessary reports timely.
Assists in preparation, coordination, and submission of proposals for client services and projects for VP approval. Comports oneself appropriately to achieve teamwork, high client satisfaction and ongoing positive client relationships.
Ensures compliance with company required policies and procedures, consistency requirements and completion of mandated company training.
Knowledge and experience in strategic planning, market analysis and physician/hospital relationships.
Articulate communicator with effective interviewing and facilitation skills necessary to diplomatically guide disparate parties toward mutual strategic goals.
Strong analytical capabilities are required; able to obtain, evaluate, analyze and synthesize various health care market, financial, operational, outcomes, and physician and performance data and develop accurate findings and recommendations.
Ability to plan, anticipate and follow-up. Must possess critical thinking abilities while handling multiple consulting engagements simultaneously.
Excellent writing and reporting skills. Able to portray and characterize complex information succinctly and effectively.
Willingness and ability to travel extensively.
Bachelor’s Degree required. Master Degree (MBA, MHA, or equivalent) preferred.
Minimum of 5+ year’s prior work experience in the healthcare industry, preferably in a hospital setting with skills in strategic planning, hospital operations, market analysis and/or hospital-physician relationships.
Minimum of 3 years experience in consulting services on a regional or national basis in the areas strategy, planning and/or consulting in a hospital setting.
