Senior Employee Relations Representative
position provides consulting assistance to Business Units (BU's)/Functions and the corporation on EEO, employee relations, and select government compliance-related matters.
50% Provide employee relations consulting and training services for Business Units/Functions. Oversee Cargill’s EEO policy poster program. Partner with BUs/Functions in providing pro-active employee relations solutions, including training.
30% Conduct internal EEO-related investigations and environmental scans. Respond to charges of discrimination from the EEOC and state Human Rights Agencies in coordination with the Employment Law group and Business Units/Functions. Gather facts in an objective manner and follow-through to appropriate resolution.
10% Assist North America Employee Relations Leader in developing and implementing employee relations strategy and annual business plan.
10% Any other Duties as Assigned:
Assist Business Units/Functions with their affirmative action planning process. Provide pro-active assistance to BUs/Functions with their compliance activities.
Other responsibilities as appropriate within the scope of the Employee Relations Department.
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
Minimum 7 years exempt level HR experience
Minimum 3 years experience conducting investigations of increasing complexity
Previous experience with investigating and responding to EEOC and Department of Human Rights charges
Previous experience with Affirmative Action and OFCCP related work
Basic understanding of U.S. EEO laws and regulations and the risks associated with them
Ability occasionally work a flexible schedule
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally
Demonstrated ability to coach multiple levels of management
Demonstrated experience in managing/juggling multiple priorities simultaneously
Demonstrated strong analytical abilities and detail-orientation
Effective presentation and facilitation skills
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with multiple business partners
Demonstrated decision-making ability and excellent judgment
Demonstrated ability to handle highly confidential information
Demonstrated appreciation for people with diverse backgrounds, perspectives and identities and commitment to treat all colleagues and employees with dignity and respect
Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguity
Up to 20% travel
Previous experience working in a shared service environment
Previous experience working with employee relations in a tiered or call center model
Previous experience using metrics and trend analysis to manage employee relations areas
Previous experience managing OFCCP audits
Previous supervisory experience
