Oversees the function of Systems/Technology Architecture and Design for Opportunity Max (Dealer Direct Solutions).
Scope:
Progressive role in start-up company with potential direct team management as the business grows. Strategic, team-oriented. Leadership contribution is direct on costs/operation within area department. Responsible for project budgets. Experience with automotive dealer systems and CRM.
Reporting and Working Relationships:
Reports to VP, Operations in Opportunity Max. Works regularly with the Opportunity Max project teams to ensure technical needs are met.
Responsibilities:
APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT (40% of time spent): Develops new insights into issues. Finds creative new sources of information and/or new ways of managing data. Provide comprehensive oversight on assigned projects and associated issues and develops appropriate action plans. Develops code and/or mentors developers on software development methodology. Executes projects according to established business process.
EXTERNAL / INTERNAL INTERACTION (20% of time spent): Uses interviews to probe key issues; is insightful in seeing and addressing issues; drawing problem solving and technical implications. Effectively communicates with vendors and clients. Independently structures and prepares well-written, technical documents. Effectively communicates technical issues to technical peers. Advises associates and other team members on technical aspects. Provides key technical insight and expertise. Promotes team productivity through providing sound technical approaches.
PROBLEM SOLVING (20% of time spent): Identifies strategic technology issues. Identifies new data needs; conducts creative discovery of new sources and organization of data. Maintains a strategic understanding and organization of both project and cross-project problems as well as architectural understanding of relevant field(s), supporting optimal design decisions. Provides recommendation to settle issues, as well as anticipates and prepares for other issues.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY (20% of time spent): Consistently contributes to department technical standards, process and best practices. Advances technical knowledge and applies to current project(s). Acts as technical mentor and works with management to prepare initial capital and operating budget. Investigates practical areas that are more cost effective.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent training/certification/experience in the field of IT or related field required. Masters-level education or equivalent training/certification/experience preferred. 3 to 5 yrs. related experience creative composition within field required. Some experience in team leadership and/or management highly preferred. Data handling/manipulation languages such as SQL, Perl, etc. required. HTML and Web API development required. Experience with automotive dealer systems and CRM (i.e. COBALT) preferred.
