Provide comprehensive holistic health care and medical services for clients served. Ensure compliance with licensing standards, Medicaid regulations, accreditation standards, and agency policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Rotating on-call duties (must be able to come to campus within one-hour of call.)
Conduct routine nurse call for clients.
Schedule, coordinate, and facilitate medical, dental, psychiatric, and other related appointments, treatments, and care.
Provide first aid and emergency medical care; coordinates follow-up care.
Monitor and maintain medical records consistent with licensing standards, Medicaid regulations, accreditation standards, and agency policies and procedures.
Administer and prepare medications following Physician's prescriptions and program procedures.
Document daily medication updates to clients electronic charts. (e.g. Harmony Software)
Observe clients to detect behavior patterns and report observations to treatment team staff.
Maintain healthy working relationships with community supports. (e.g. physicians, hospitals, pharmacies, VA Vaccines for Children, medical supply vendors)
Intervene with violent or potentially violent and/or suicidal clients by verbal or physical means as required.
Provide TB testing and retesting for staff, interns and volunteers.
Coordinate annual staff flu shots.
Conduct daily audits of medication administration records to verify compliance with established policies and procedures and licensure requirements.
Responsible for staff compliance with agency behavior management practices, including manual restraint. (e.g. restraint debriefings within one-hour of restraint)
Respond adequately to emergencies and potentially unsafe situations with clients.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete initial exams and admittance forms for new clients.
Contact clients guardians to inform them of changes in clients medical status.
Conduct rounds to track client's general physical condition such as pulse, temperature, height, weight, and respiratory rates. Provide documentation and information to guardians as needed.
Transport clients to medical appointments.
Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Licensed Practical Nurse. Psychiatric experience with children/adolescents preferred.
