A high school education or GED or completion of a specialized course of study at a
business or trade school. Six months to two years of similar or related experience.
Associates Degree preferred. Must be committed to open communication and task sharing,
neat in appearance, able to meet the public courteously and effectively, and willing to
take initiative in performance of duty. Good oral and written communication skills.
Must have refined skills in office procedures, excellent typing, database, calculator,
and computer skills. Knowledge of integrated computer systems preferred. Must be committed to confidentiality.
Scope of Job:
Facilitates educational functions of the Humanities and Fine Arts Division, including
receptionist/telephone/secretarial support for the division director and faculty members;
liaison between the division director and the instructional staff; recordkeeping, office
management, computer usage, report generation; and shared supervision of work-study students. No summer hours.
Reports to the Division Directors and through the director to the Vice President and the College President.

10 days per year accrues to 90 days total. Paid sick leave is available to exempt employees.
Earned at the rate of one day per month during years one through five of continuous employment, and 1.25 days per month thereafter. Paid vacation leave is available to exempt employees
Employee is covered by the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System (KPERS). Employee contributes 4% or 6% of gross.
$15,000 group term life insurance provided by Board, plus 1.5 times annual salary group term life insurance provided by KPERS.
Board provides up to $400.00 per month ($4800.00 per year) for a use-it-or-lose-it health insurance benefit through GCCC-sponsored health insurance plan.
Internal Revenue Code Section 125 Cafeteria Salary Reduction Plan allows employee
to reduce compensation in amount necessary to purchase from nontaxable benefits contained in the
plan and selected by the employee, including health (hospitalization) insurance, cancer insurance,
Health Savings Account, medical expense reimbursement, dependent (child) care reimbursement.
May, at employee's discretion, take part in the matching tax-sheltered plan with TIAA-CREF. Employer match limited to $50.00.
