Position Purpose :|
The position reports to the Sr. Manager – Payroll and the Payroll Supervisor and is responsible for the administration of all PCard functions and assists with payroll functions, especially biweekly payrolls, and general ledger payroll related activity and other tasks as directed.
1. Administer/manage the PCard and OOP programs for all employees (may include oversight of Australia) – new cards, accounting, audits, system enhancements, reporting, handle special requests including special attention to any possible fraud activity, ensure cardholders comply with policy, reclass costs as requested as well as update the system for reporting structure changes in the company, ensure approvers have proper expenditure authority, etc. (65%)
2. Learn how to process the U.S. biweekly payrolls via SAP to ensure correct and timely payment to employees while ensuring consistent application of payrules. Become familiar with SAP to be able to test configuration changes to ensure future payrolls can still be processed timely and accurately. Provide Kronos support, as needed, for regional/mine employees, especially the biweekly locations. (20%)
3. Gather and report domestic and international travel, as well as visa activity, for all employees by state and country to appropriate personnel at Peabody, to ensure employees and the company are reporting and/or paying taxes to comply with state and country tax regulations. (10%)
4. Assist Payroll Manager in responding to audit requests, the year-end W-2 process, complete assigned special projects or requests as instructed, and back up other individuals in the Payroll department as directed. (5%)
Job Requirements : Candidate should have prior payroll experience (minimum 2 years required, 3 – 5 years is strongly preferred), hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred) or Finance, SAP experience is required and Kronos experience is preferred, have excellent analytical skills, professional communication skills, strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, able to use third-party provided software), ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, organized, attentive to detail, maintain confidentiality, have familiarity with wage attachment regulations and Federal, State and Local tax rules. Able to work independently and be a self-starter. Able to participate in after-hour calls, as needed, with Australia, if PCard needs require.
