LUCAS TREE EXPERTS
POSITION TITLE : Climber
FUNCTION : Climbs trees with conventional climbing aids (ropes, block, etc.) without the use of mechanized aerial devices for Transmission Rights of Way.
Must be able to accept responsibility.
Must be punctual and reliable.
Should obtain and maintain first aid certification.
Should pass EHAP (Electrical Hazards Appropriate operating Procedure).
Must be able to work outdoors under varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
Must obtain and maintain arborist license.
Should possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that is in good standing as defined by Lucas Tree.
Must have a total of three months prior experience
Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of all knots, ropes, and rigging devices used in tree trimming and removal operation.
Must have knowledge to perform line clearance, pruning, and removals.
Pile, drag, and chip brush; pull hangers.
Follows safety policies of the company (place signs, wear hard hat and safety belt).
Operates and maintains trimming tools (chain saws, axes, and bush hooks).
Spraying brush and stumps.
Cleans up work area after job is completed.
Performs work to obtain adequate clearance for utility wires with minimum damage to trees and property.
Obtains and is responsible for own climbing gear.
Check ropes and climbing gear for safety.
.Conducts himself in a workmanlike manner and act with good public relations at all times: such as no littering, no foul language, and no horseplay.
Must maintain good housekeeping on assigned vehicles.
Performs additional work as requested
