The Senior Consultant plays a key role on the engagement team; either running small engagements, managing portions of a large engagement, or being a team member on an engagement driving the fact-finding, analysis, and drafting of recommendations for the final report. When leading engagements, the Senior Consultant ensures high quality service and high customer satisfaction with engagement results. Responsibilities involve a range of activities from drafting the engagement plan and tracking project status to developing the final report. The Senior Consultant will also assist in business development activities.
The Senior Consultant must ensure that the tasks continue to address the needs of the customer and fit within the overall scope of the engagement, and are completed on time and within budget. As items or issues are defined that could change the outcome of the engagement or expand the scope of the project, the Senior Consultant works with the Consulting Manager or Principal to report and negotiate the impact of these changes with the customer.
Bachelor’s degree is preferred in either Business Administration or Information Systems, MBA is preferred.
Prefer individuals with 5-7 years of Big 5 or major consulting firm experience.

Works on more than one engagement at a time. Manages small engagements or a portion of a larger engagement.
Assists in the development and execution of the project plan for the engagement. This includes drafting the engagement plan (engagement scope, deliverables, time frames, and resources), identifying and recruiting engagement members, and preparation of individual work plans. When managing engagements, tracks engagement expenses, delivers engagement products, and manages engagement profitability. Ensures that the highest standards are met within budget and time constraints.
Oversees all consulting engagement activities leading to the production of engagement deliverables.
Establishes credibility with the customer
Interfaces with customers in a professional manner with emphasis on building customer relationships. Develops relationships with key customer personnel. Maintains and expands customer contacts at high levels.
Understands customer requirements and assists in selling add-on business. Works closely with customers to create and define consulting engagements.
Is a role model/coach for less senior consultants. Provides meaningful feedback to consultants on an engagement.
Continually develops skills and knowledge based on accumulated experience.
Plays a role in practice development by assisting in the management of consulting resources on an engagement. Contributes intellectual capital to the engagement. Is responsible for engagement profitability for assigned area. Participates in professional development and recruitment efforts for the consulting organization.
Sets priorities appropriately. Ensures that work products are delivered in a timely manner and of the highest quality.
Interacts with other Datalink organizations as necessary during engagement related tasks.
Performs as a non-management employee. However, operates autonomously and receives management direction as appropriate.
