An Integration Engineer with extensive software knowledge and a background in electrical and / or electrical-mechanical engineering to work on specifications & development of Electric Power Steering systems. The engineer will be responsible for defining the functional software requirements for Electric Power Steering (EPS) products specific to Ford Applications in addition to conducting functional validation of the product.
Define and maintain new baselines of functional software requirements in order to provide correct functionality for EPS product development. Act as the applications engineering interface for software integration with internal engineering teams; extensive global communication with UK & Germany required. Review customer requirements and capture information necessary to generate internal software requirement documents or specification analysis documents. Evaluate proposed changes to software requirements documents. Assist in planning of system development milestones with software and other internal teams to ensure on-time customer delivery. Conduct functional validation of EPS software at the system level, which includes preparation of software test requirements and reviewing of test results. Validation of software will also involve co-coordinating test and validation activities with other sub-systems and engineering teams working on the project. Investigate and resolve performance issues related to software and the interaction with other sub-systems; documentation of resolution steps in 8D format with appropriate fault reports is required. Perform detailed analysis of the operation of the electronic system, including the embedded C code. Maintain liaison with Satyam offshore where other software testing/analysis is being carried out.
A highly technical engineer with 7-10 years of experience working on electrical or electrical-mechanical systems. Several years experience working with real-time embedded software (using C) and electronic system engineering, preferably for automotive electronic systems. Practical electronic hardware experience of such systems would be advantageous. Good communication and ability to engage positively in a team setting. Experience resolving issues and reporting updates at the customer level. Highly motivated individual with good leadership and organizational skills.
