Education, Certification & Licenses:|
This position requires knowledge of warehousing, transportation,
and process analysis as well as quantitative methods acquired through
formal education or 2 - 3 years on-the-job application. Equivalent to a
Bachelors degree in industrial engineering, or logistics.
Minimum 7 years experience within a fast-paced pick and pack
environment, and/or transportation field
Operational management experience a plus
In-depth experience in material handling and transportation
systems, warehouse operations, productivity, budgeting, and planning
Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Knowledge of SAP or Certified Project Management credentials is a
Knowledge and understanding of OSHA regulations relating to
transportation, warehouse operations, and equipment
Written and verbal communication and analytical skills
The Manager, Supply Chain Operations Process is responsible for the
development and implementation of key warehouse and transportation
controls and processes minimizing asset risk and investment while
achieving quality and productivity standards. This position will
identify and apply new concepts, technologies, and innovations to the
warehousing and transportation environment within contract, retail,
consolidated, and PowerMax facilities. This position provides cost
savings and justification models to support business decisions.
Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions:
1. Identify new concepts, technologies, and innovations to increase
productivity and provide warehouse and transportation controls.
2. Assist field operations directors by investigating, recommending,
and establishing changes necessary to increase throughput, or remove
operational barriers within the distribution center. Provide training
and guidance to location personnel on implementation of new systems and
processes in support of changes in business strategies.
3. Provide support services and technical input to operating
locations as required. Work with information technology as the business
representative for technology enhancements and corrections required to
support current and future operating needs.
4. Participate in the establishment of measurement methods to
evaluate location operational efficiency.
5. Provide support and develop authorized expenditures (AFE)
targeted at productivity improvements.
6. Assist in the development of economic justification models.
7. Quantitatively determine and track expected productivity
improvement and savings from Lean events and correlate back savings to
dashboard and/or KBU.
8. Develop and execute project plans including defining, sequencing,
estimating, and developing schedules for activities. Ensure consistent
application of processes for all projects.
9. Demonstrate a commitment to OfficeMax core values.
