Under general direction, responsible for the more complex development and delivery of general, technical and safety training to PPL employees within their technical discipline (Operations, Mechanical, I&C or Electrical). Works independently with minimal guidance using knowledge of adult learning principles and the systematic approach to training, (ADDIE Model). This job is a senior-skill level without formal supervisory responsibility. May provide guidance and direction to other PPL employees (SME's) to support production of high quality, timely and cost-effective training modules.
Evaluates the effectiveness of training modules through observation and feedback from supervisors.
Prepares more complex training simulations, labs, JPM's or other types of Performance Evaluations as required to support the delivery of training.
Prepares and analyzes student progression by learning the PQS # and Oracle System. Creates and/or run reports in Oracle and to keep accurate and detailed records of employee performance in training programs.
Develops and delivers standardized discipline specific, safety technical training modules and /or other training modules as requested in accordance with Technical Training policies and quality standards.
Consults with clients to provide technical advice or services relating to the subject matter expertise unique to the individual. Must possess good writing skills and communicating skills to develop and implement traiing modules, communications plans as a routine part of the training services provided.
Responsible for setting-up instructor and student training schedules as required to meet the demands of peak work load periods or when a substitute is needed for the lead instructor. Ensures that all development and delivery of training is completed within the requested time frame.
Provides functional advice or training to less-experienced instructors. Acts as a resource for colleagues. May direct the work of other staff members.
Applies knowledge of adult learning principles in classroom and in training modules.
Candidates must meet the basic qualifications to receive consideration.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
7 to 9 years training experience.
Contributes to budget control through the effective and efficient use of personnel, materials, tools, and equipment. For Apprentice and accelerated learning curriculums, Critical Skills, and all other training, the instructor will view the Business Unit as the customer for course development, content, delivery quality, delivery method, and delivery schedule. Proactively and effectively maintain, and strive to improve, inter-group teamwork, cooperation, unity and loyalty.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and databases.
Effective interpersonal skills
Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
Experience in a technical field related to Power Plant/Process Plant Operations.
Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver training using the systematic approach to training, the ADDIE Model.
