The NC State Veterinary Health Complex ( VHC ), established in 1983, is one of the highest rated regional academic medical centers in the country, serving communities throughout North Carolina as well as many other states.
The mission of the Veterinary Health Complex is three-fold:
1. Compassionate, state of the art specialty health care
2. Expert clinical instruction for 4th year veterinary students from the College of Veterinary Medicine
3. Ongoing investigation of innovative techniques and procedures to further advance the field of veterinary medicine
With over seventeen clinical services staffed by board certified specialists, many of whom are not only nationally but also internationally renowned, the VHC is on the cutting edge of veterinary medicine. Patients benefit from the combined expertise of multiple specialists utilizing a team approach to patient health care.
Each year, nearly 22,000 patients are treated in the VHC . The VHC provides
compassionate care, state of the art specialty health care, expert clinical
instruction for 4th year veterinary students from College of Veterinary Medicine, and ongoing investigation of innovative techniques and procedures to further advance the field of veterinary medicine.
Essential Job Duties
Provide technical assistance to the diagnostic imaging department in the VHC ,including small animal, large animal, Health and Wellness, exotics. The individual will be performing any of the following, radiographs, CT, ultrasound, fluoroscopy and nuclear medicine.
High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience in medical diagnostics; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Some positions may require additional training, certifications, or licenses.
Departmental Required Skills
Ability to administer radiation therapy.
Strong communication skills.
Knowledge of digital radiographic procedures.
Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
Completion of Veterinary Technician or Radiology Technology program.
2-3 years experience in veterinary setting.
Prefer large and small animal experience.
Preferred work in an teaching environment and university setting.
Required License or Certification
Registered/Licensed/Certified Veterinary Technician or Radiology Technician with radiation therapy experience.
