Job Summary

Provides technical support in the safe and efficient operation of milling equipment and physical plant in a high production operation. Duties include but are not limited to maintain and repair mill equipment such as SAG mill, ball mills, conveyors, pumps, piping systems, and performs welding and some light fabrication. Operates some small mobile equipment associated with mill operations and maintenance.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for all tasks related to preventative maintenance programs
  • Responsible for gathering technical information to perform the job
  • Performs equipment walk around, inspects and operates equipment, properly disposes of wastes
  • Prepares computer generated work orders, changes out parts, checks the status of direct orders and follows procedures to pick up parts and supplies from the warehouse
  • Punctuality and regular attendance are required
Qualifications & Skills Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Employee must have sufficient education to read and write instructions, perform simple mathematical calculations and keep records
Experience in maintaining and repairing milling equipment, pumps and conveyors
Experience operating small equipment such as forklifts, bobcats and loaders is preferred
Must have own tools
Ability to work with others in a team environment
Must have solid verbal and written communication skills
Must be a self-starter with the ability to work with others in a team environment
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Possess a valid drivers’ license
Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis
