This position is a 1500 hour per year wage position with no State benefits. It will provide professional nursing care to patients in clinics, homes and schools. Performs nursing asssessments, performs labs tests, takes measurements, develops and implements care plans, including the administration of medication. Performs nursing home screenings. Consults with other care providers. Controls communicable disease spread according to agency guidelines. Documents services provided, following documentation guidelines and reflecting quality assurance. Assists with provision of clinic needs as assigned to assure good customer service and clinic flow. Administers prescribed treatments and/or procedures according to standards of practice. Performs lab procedures according to OSHA and CLIA regulations. Participates in community education activities and participates in emergency operations.
Licensure as a Registered Nurse with the ability to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Ability to work independently and multitask. Skills in basic computer software programs. Strong oral and written communication as well as problem solving and assesment skills. Ability to travel when needed with mileage reimbursement.
Prefer applicants with demonstrated abilities to work independently, communicate effectively orally and in writing, to function as a team member, and perform health assessments. Prefer BSN prepared and/or public health nursing experience. Prefer bilingual in English/Spanish.
Successful completion of a criminal background check will be required.
