This position is covered by NERC CIP cyber security standards. Prior to being hired, promoted, or transferred into the position, the candidate must successfully pass a Personnel Risk Assessment, which includes identity verification and a criminal background check. Prior to being granted unescorted access to cyber secure areas, the candidate must attend cyber security training. Annual cyber security training is also required.

Given the financial nature of this position, this position has been defined as a position requiring a credit check. Prior to being hired, promoted, or transferred into the position, the candidate must successfully pass a credit background check.

SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, manages a team that provides technical support to the Power Production fleet. Assists the team in achieving its goals and objectives to include superior plant operating availability, cost control, and personnel productivity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Holds employees and contractors accountable for completing all projects in a timely and professional manner, while promoting a safe working environment

Works with other Team Managers and supervisors to ensure all resources are allocated to best meet Power Production customer needs

Administers contracts for a wide array of projects, professional services, outside services, materials and equipment

Assists and may represent the company in litigation or grievance matters

Provides technical expertise for Power Production equipment maintenance, reliability, and new construction efforts

Develops and manages the Teams operations and maintenance budget and capital budgets as required

Promotes awareness and compliance of corporate EEO, AA, and loss control policies

Ensures compliance with codes, rules, and regulations, policies, and standards for all work completed

Provides technical input into system design changes for new construction, reliability upgrades, and maintenance adjustments

Directs the work of the planners supporting work within the various maintenance, operations, and engineering departments

Responsibility is often focused on entire programs that support facilities and not the individual projects

COMPETENCIES:

Broad knowledge of managerial principles and skills

Ability to manage projects on time and within budget

Knowledge in the design, operation, and maintenance of fossil-fired power plants

Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills in a labor/management environment

In-depth knowledge of project management, outage planning procedures, scheduling, coordination, negotiations, tracking and documentations systems, including PassPort and other systems

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects or activities

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with five to seven years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations

Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis

ANALYSIS AND PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

DECISION MAKING:
The incumbent must be able to make decisions and deal with problems encountered on a short-term basis and be held accountable for the impact of these decisions for their long-term effects.

Decisions and recommendations have a large impact on group performance, equipment availability, compliance with environmental regulations, and/or customer service.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit up to 2/3 of the time. Must have fine dexterity. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Some out-of-town and overnight travel may be required.

Office environment.
