The Human Resources Manager for Six Axis LLC will provide HR leadership to the firm ’s operating subsidiaries, principally: (a) SafeRack, an engineering design and manufacturing entity with principle locations in Andrews and Sumter, South Carolina, and (b) Atlatl, a software firm headquartered in Charleston, SC. Six Axis LLC, privately held, is based in Andrews, S.C. near Georgetown, SC. This is an exciting opportunity for a Human Resource professional who likes walking the manufacturing floor, has a diverse background and a proven history in helping to reengineer a company ’s HR policies, procedures.
The successful candidate for this role will be a person who has risen though the HR ranks and has considerable experience in developing programs from scratch including talent development and succession planning, wage guidelines and compensation programs, training in interview skills and hiring practices, onboarding and employee communication programs, benefits, workers compensation, working with senior executives, and establishing programs in a rapidly growing enterprise. Responsibilities: Six Axis – benefitting all subsidiaries: Develop a company-wide onboarding program which will introduce new employees to the firm and help build a sense of understanding of the firm ’s strength ’s, evolution and strategic direction. Be a resource in the development of the Six Axis subsidiary organization structure and development including scope of positions. Help lead and organize the recruiting effort of Six Axis entities.
Research and recommend policies and implement based upon a best practices approach. Establish guidelines for best HR practices including maintaining integrity of employee files, systems, and information. Interprets HR policy issues and provides guidance on employment laws and regulations. Assure consistency or appropriateness of policies across the Six Axis organization.
Act as an advisor and facilitator to management. Safe Rack A mid-sized non-union plant of approximately 200 employees that has experienced impressive growth and is in need of HR leadership to align and implement employee policies and procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for benefits, recruiting, orientation, employee relations, unemployment and workers compensation. Develop fair and consistent pay policies including pay grades and increases commensurate with skill levels.
Coordinate evaluation of wage guidelines with SafeRack functional leaders including operations, engineering, and various positions. Investigate employee concerns and makes appropriate recommendations on the resolution. Conduct needed analysis then develop training programs to address performance or knowledge gaps as well as succession planning. Atlatl: Start-up, revolutionary software company headquartered in Charleston, SC with offices located in Portland, OR.
This company is quickly ramping up its team and needs someone to lead the recruitment efforts to support the Atlatl COO build the manager level and direct reports for the respective teams: (a) product development, (b) operations (c) sales (d) customer service. Establish candidate screening processes. Develop fair and consistent pay policies including incentives for the Atlatl organization, considering the development and mature phases of the enterprise. Work closely with VP of Product Development, the Director of Project Management, and Atlatl senior management to help assess employee performance, foster team building, and implement best practices in employee relations.
Manage the performance evaluation process including the annual merit and bonus review for all business units. Conduct compensation studies and analysis ensuring internal and external equity. Ensures compliance with all appropriate state, federal, and country laws. Qualifications: Minimum 10 years of experience as a Human Resource experience with increasing responsibilities in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Ability to relate well and show respect and coach to all levels within a diverse organization. Demonstrated management and leadership ability; mentor, develop, and direct all levels of staff. Proven success within HR and on an upward track with specific experiences which helped build or develop a business in accordance with its business plan. Human Resource Generalist with proven abilities in negotiations, analytical, planning, organizing, implementation and execution.
Experience with industry issues and conflict resolution among internal functions; and familiarity with the rhythm of the business, not to mention industry contacts. Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related discipline. PHR or other related certifications preferred. Modifications and alternatives can be explored in real time.
This solution not only significantly reduces the selling cycle but helps improve closing rates. As a result, many SafeRack customers, having been presented SafeRack ’s offering via the Atlatl configurator, have requested and paid Six Axis for the right to license Atlatl, customized for their respective businesses. SafeRack has spawned a new, growing business with rapidly expanding clientele. The Atlatl software is proprietary with patent pending.
