Description Tell A Friend Overview: Responsible for timely repair and maintenance of tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment to ensure a safe and efficient fleet of vehicles. Operate vehicles and test all working parts in various functions to ensure proper operation. Position Information: ? Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer ?

Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation required ? Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles ? Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance ? Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicle ?

Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures ? Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS * Must have two years? heavy truck maintenance experience.

May substitute one year heavy truck maintenance experience with one year recognized technical school training * Must be able to operate a manual transmission truck to determine if operating properly * Must be able to enter and exit the drivers compartment of the truck and/or behind cab using normally available footholds and handholds * Must posses a valid drivers license * Must be able to remove and replace a tractor brake drum weighing approximately 110 pounds several times a month * Must be authorized to bring equipment in and out of the shop * Ability to follow instructions and complete required training * Basic computer skills * Basic written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.) * Must be able to work with or around chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants WORKING CONDITIONS * Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job * Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise * Exposure to extreme heat/cold is minimal while working in and out of a controlled temperature setting in a vehicle or building * Exposure to climate conditions of the geographic area while working away from the normal work area along highways, streets and overpasses * Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants Job ID: 33819 JobTitle: Shop Technician Grade 2 Company Overview Supercharged careers in a People First environment.
