The Department of Nursing and Nutrition at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh invites applications for a tenure-track position, effective Fall 2011, to teach undergraduate courses in traditional and on-line environments in the B.S. Nutrition Program. This program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetic Education (CADE) of the American Dietetic Association (ADA).
Responsibilities include: The position requires teaching various nutrition courses, including Nutrition in the Life Cycle, Food Service Management (theory and laboratory), Principles of Management, Community Nutrition, and Nutrition Education and Counseling. The successful applicant will conduct research, serve on department and college-wide committees and provide public service.
Required Qualifications: Doctorate in Nutrition or Dietetics or Food Service Management or Institution Management, and work experience in food service management. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active RD status and membership in the ADA. ABD's will be considered but will be appointed at the rank of Instructor, with completion of doctorate required within one year of date of hire.
Preferred Qualifications: Evidence of successful teaching experience; evidence of community involvement.
Salary: Assistant Professor - $47,000 minimum; Instructor - $44,000 minimum; excellent benefits.
