About the Opportunity:
Responsible for providing knowledge, guidance, education, and leadership to center Building Engineers to maintain plant operations with a safe, clean environment without interruptions to residents, staff and visitors. Contributes to a profitable and quality driven business as it relates to plan operations.
Provides the center Executive Director with interviewing and hiring of maintenance personnel, and provide assistance with the employee evaluation process.
Provides guidance and technical approval of capital expenditure process, and the bid/specification function, assuring quality of center needs.
Provides training and general upgrading of center maintenance personnel, including recommendations concerning continuing education.
Routinely monitors and evaluates the status and quality of center preventative maintenance programs.
Routinely monitors and evaluates the status and quality of housekeeping and laundry outcomes.
Evaluates and enhances building maintenance contracts for necessity and appropriations.
Maintains the ability to track survey trends involving life/safety issues and physical plant deficiencies as related to federal / state and JCAHO guidelines. Identifies problem areas and is prepared to evaluate and execute plans of correction.
Knowledge of equipment and building systems utilized in health care facilities.
Knowledge of building codes and rules and regulation regarding the operation of plant equipment.
Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
Knowledge of OSHA and other safety requirements.
Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and at all levels of the organization.
Bachelors Degree in an appropriate field and/or completion of an appropriate Journeyman program, or equivalent experience.
Five years of experience in building and plant maintenance. Two years in a supervisory role with staff responsibility.
Experience with Long Term Care buildings and plant systems preferred.
