Graphics Hardware Engineer
In this position, you will be joining the IAG Visual and Parallel Computing Group (VPG) Simulator team (Fulsim) responsible for hardware modeling of graphics projects. We design and develop C++ pipelines that model 3D/Display/Media technology and new algorithms used in Intel's chips. You will work on spec definition and algorithm development (along with architects, micro-architects, and Design Engineers), own the software design and validation (units and tools), and support RTL validation. This model is the primary reference for graphics and media hardware validation, both pre and post-silicon, and it's also used by the graphics driver team for driver debug and development.
You should have strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and problem solving skills. A self-starter with good planning and the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team.
You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience would be obtained through your educational level research and/or relevant job/internship experiences.
You must possess a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline. 1-3 years demonstrated coursework/experience should be in the following areas:
- Strong C/C++ coding and debugging skills with practical experience in Object Oriented programming
- Good understanding on data structures and algorithms
- Good knowledge of microprocessors and computer system architecture
- Knowledge of 3D and 2D graphics algorithms or video specs would be an added advantage, as is a good knowledge of Intel hardware architecture
