Hands-on datacenter management; hardware provisioning with PXE/kickstart/cobbler, ideally with HP experience, C-series blade
architecture in particular.

  • Networking hardware experience with Cisco switch core, Cisco PIX firewalls, and BigIP load balancers

  • Networking software including DNS/DHCP/LDAP/NFS/Samba/802.1q VLAN tagging

  • SAN networking configuration and maintenance, including Cisco fiber switched HP MSA/P2000 disk arrays, iSCSI, RAID and LUN provisioning

  • Linux operating system, primarily Redhat/CentOS distributions with some legacy Solaris and limited Windows 2008R2

  • High Availability technologies including Redhat Cluster Suite, NIC bonding, multipath I/O

  • Virtualization technologies, primarily KVM with some legacy VMWare ESX

  • Enterprise backup management experience utilizing both tape and disk stores and software including EMC Legato Networker and Bacula

  • Automation/Configuration Management tools such as CFEngine and Puppet

  • Monitoring experience with both operational systems such as nagios/icinga and performance trending such as collectd/munin/graphite/cacti

    Qualifications/Requirements
  • Proficiency in a scripting language such as bash/python/perl

  • Strong understanding of LAMP stack and support of web applications and supporting components such as apache/tomcat/varnish/memcache/wordpress/drupal

  • Strong debugging skills, including proficiency with low-level data collection tools such as strace and tcpdump

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where requirements and priorities may change quickly

  • Comfortable architecting and implementing solutions based on open source software

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally
