The Lab Assistant must be knowledgeable in clinical lab skills and OSHA lab standards and must have excellent customer service skills. This position has a great deal of interaction with students, and should have the ability to mentor students; prioritize duties; correctly and effectively demonstrate lab skills; and exhibit excellent verbal, nonverbal, and written communication skills. Additionally, the Lab Assistant is required to be punctual, responsible, ethical, and a team player.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Instruct students in clinical lab skills
Demonstrate professionalism and appropriate medical ethics
Assist in lab supplies inventory control
Promote and maintain the lab environment according to OSHA and Charter College standards
Instruct students in and ensure accurate and appropriate medical chart documentation
Assist Dental instructors in the lab, as needed
Able to work a flexible shift
Actively participate as a positive medical program team member
Other lab duties as assigned
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Current Dental and/or Lab Technician certification
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
11.00/hr - n on-exempt - hourly position
Clinic two weekday afternoons with an alternating Saturday (8 - 12 hours per week)
