(W) Provides a wide variety of services to veterans, and intensive employment and employability development services to disabled veterans as established by federal laws and regulations.

Hiring Process: This job requires a written examination (W) . Exams are given in several locations and no appointment is necessary. We encourage you to apply online. If you apply online, you do not have to take a copy of the application to the test center. DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU CAN TEST WITHIN 30 DAYS. Online applicants who do not test within 30 days of application will be rejected. Applicants using a paper application must present a completed application form at the test site. Positive identification is required. There is a 90 day re-test waiting period. Caution: Any time you re-take the same test your new score, whether higher or lower, will automatically replace any previous test scores.

Graduation from a standard high school or the equivalent.

Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid employment.
NOTE: A non-veteran is ineligible to be appointed to fill a Disabled Veterans Outreach Program Specialist position.

Successful full-time study in a regionally accredited college or university, or resident business or vocational school training may be substituted through an established formula for the required experience.

Special Requirement:
When vacancies occur, Disabled Veteran Outreach Program Specialist positions must be filled by qualified disabled veterans. If no qualified disabled veterans are available, the Bureau of Employment Programs must request a waiver to hire a non disabled veteran from the Regional Director, Veterans Employment and Training Service, U.S. Department of Labor.
