SMC Software is seeking a talented .NET developer skilled in many aspects of web development to take on software projects critical to the growth and success of the company. The developer's role will be to build, improve, and oversee existing transactional systems, operational data stores and data warehouses, along with architecting new systems to address business needs. Projects will range from quick-and-brief solutions to full-scale enterprise implementations. Code in C# using various Microsoft platform technologies, including ASP.NET WebForms, MVC, and others.
Build the back end and user interface for our applications using MVC framework on Microsoft ASP.NET.
Implement new features leveraging both server-side logic (in C#) and rich client-side functionality (JavaScript, DHTML and AJAX).
Define the API between the user interface and the data layer to build web services.
Collaborate closely with user experience desginer on screen prototypes, process flow diagrams and functional specifications.
Perform unit testing of programs and reports; create, document, and execute unit testing, evaluate results against specifications, isolate and fix defects.
Coordinate activities with other team members for successful transition of the application through development, testing, implementation and maintenance stages.
Provide production support for existing systems including trouble-shooting, fixing bugs, and implementing enhancements.
Update and maintain HTML/CSS/JavaScript.

Strong understanding of C#, application architecture and object-oriented design.
Experience with Microsoft ASP.NET MVC framework, ASP.NET Web Forms development, User Controls, and SQL Server.
Experience in developing enterprise level web applications (ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, AJAX, Javascript, JQuery, MVC), web services (REST, SOAP).
Expertise in building optimized cross-browser compatible web pages with XHTML and advanced CSS.
Expertise in using JavaScript frameworks, preferably jQuery, as well as experience with JavaScript debugging tools.
Experience building AJAX-driven web functionality.
Strong understanding of user experience, browser quirks and best practices, and client-side performance issues.
Experience defining project software architecture (framework usage, code organization standards, project-specific best practices and techniques, etc.).
Experience with identifying and solving performance problems in web applications.
Knowledge and advocate of best practices (standard naming conventions and architecture).
Experience creating estimates, defining project timeline and organizing tasks into milestones.
Experience defining project systems architecture (server configuration, hosting specification, etc.).
Experience defining project data architecture (database schema, caching, etc.).
Experience leading and delegating tasks.
Experience conducting code reviews.

Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or 5 or more years web development experience with enterprise projects
