This position is in the Air Force Global Strike Command.

The mission of the Air Force Global Strike Command is to develop and provide safe, secure and credible combat-ready forces for nuclear deterrence and global strike operations to support the President of the United States and combatant commanders.

The primary purpose of this position is to exercise oversight and direction authority over the Operations Compliance Staff in the Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS).

Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the squadron, ensuring that the Operations Compliance section complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.

Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.

Represents the Operations Compliance staff with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.

Plans, directs, and oversees training, resources, and systems required to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the squadron.

Manages and leads a project team conducting quality assurance inspections and surveillances, of all flights within the Logistics Readiness Squadron to ensure compliance with existing instructions and policies.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-09) or equivalent.

Specialized experience must include

knowledge of a wide range of logistics management operations that include supply, transportation and logistics management policies, practices, techniques and laws and of core Logistics Readiness Squadron computer systems’ policies, procedures and programs.

Federal Time-In-Grade

(TIG) Requirement for General Schedule (GS) Positions:
Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-09 or higher grade (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral.

The purpose of TIG restrictions is to prevent excessively rapid promotions in competitive service GS positions and to protect competitive principles.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1.

Knowledge of a wide range of logistics management operations that include supply, transportation and logistics management policies, practices, techniques and laws and of core Logistics Readiness Squadron computer systems’ policies, procedures and programs.

2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.

3. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and apprise the staff of an organization.

4. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations to meet program requirement and objectives within available resources.

5. Ability to identify, analyze, and translate complex information and to evaluate options concerning the effectiveness and efficiency of Logistics Readiness Squadron programs and operations.

6. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE

:

Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

:

Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.

Must be able to obtain and maintain Nuclear Weapons-Related Material (NWRM) Certification throughout the term of employment.

This is a drug testing designated position.

Incumbent is subject to random drug testing.

This is a Key Position.

Incumbents must be removed from their military recall status if alternative for filling the position during an emergency are not available.
