Purpose:
Responsible for sales related activities associated with expedited accounts, including the development of the expedited accounts to accomplish compensatory growth as required for Xpress Global Systems.

Function:
·

Schedule expedited shipments with Xpress Global or applicable outside carrier.

·

Ensure correct billing on all expedited shipments including manual creation of Pros in the AS400.

·

Communicate plan of execution to appropriate operations personnel to ensure successful pick-up and delivery.

·

Negotiate price concessions with customers/service providers when necessary.

·

Follow up on new leads and referrals.

·

Identify and secure strategic partnerships with outside service providers

·

Constantly evaluate the assigned accounts in the territory to insure that the maximum potential is being called upon.

·

Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge.

·

Prepare a variety of status reports including activity, shipment status, follow-up and completed expedites on a daily basis.

·

Obtain appropriate paperwork from outside carriers including POD’s.

·

Finalize shipments in the AS400.

·

Professionally establish and maintain current customer and potential customer relationships via electronic and telephonic communication.

·

Communicate daily status updates of all current expedited shipments to Directors, Terminal Managers, Sales and other appropriate personnel.

·

Identify potential service problems or service failures and coordinate the rescue of distressed expedited shipments; sometimes at odd hours.

·

Maintain daily updates in the AS400 to allow for “up-to-date” shipment status and tracking.

·

Assist with on-the-job training to new employees.

·

Other duties as assigned.

Key Knowledge and Experience:
·

A college degree in business or a related field is preferred, or in lieu of a college degree an amount of related industry experience so as to assimilate a college degree.

·

0-2 years of demonstrated experience achieving designated goals and results in a dynamic environment.

·

Ability to persuade and influence others. Ability to professionally articulate, communicate, develop and deliver oral presentations. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.

·

Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques. This is normally acquired through a combination of the completion of a Bachelor's Degree and sales or marketing experience, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry.

·

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

·

Work requires the ability to successfully achieve goals independently.

·

Working knowledge of AS400, Excel, Outlook and Word.
