We are currently seeking Executive Producer, Content capable of producing and managing ground breaking, innovative television programs to join us at Travel Channel. The position has creative oversight of a variety of production projects and manages the efforts of multiple outside production companies simultaneously. The Executive Producer has a strong history of launching entertainment formats and series. The job is to execute on the vision set by the Development lead and the Senior Vice President, Content on new programs, new genres and find new ways of talking to audiences cross platform.
We are a team environment are seeking an individual who will share ideas and contribute to the strategic vision and direction of the network. Must always think through the big picture when managing the production process. Will be held accountable for exploring the possibilities for each show managed (ex. Platform opportunities, talent, potential of project to become an event or series, etc.)
In this role you will participate in establishing budgets and concluding production agreements with program suppliers. Oversee entire creative process including all phases of pre-production, production, post-production and final delivery on original, co-production and reversion projects.
Our executive producer has resposibility for management of multiple outside production companies on multiple series and specials simultaneously, and in coordination with internal departments to ensure timely production and delivery of programming.
Adherence to and accountability for all aspects of Travel Channel's editorial, budgetary and production standards, as well as contractual and deliverables requirements. Acts as network representative to outside organizations and responsible for maintaining relationships with external vendors and clients. Supervisor of shared Production Support Team member. Responsible for contributing to managing their daily workload, schedule, career growth, training and development as well as their annual review.
The right candidate will be knowledgeable of brand specific lifestyle programming and popular culture related to television programming
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Knowledge of the cable television market, demographics and competitive programming
- Knowledge of accounting related to budget preparation and maintenance
- A demonstrated track record in creative execution of format series and ratings success.
- Ability to initiate and maintain effective professional relationships internally and externally.

- Critical thinking and logical reasoning skills
Bachelor's degree in a directly related field or equivalent experience and 6 years experience creating programming for television, including the management of people.
