Job Id : HRR- 26879 Title : Laboratory Technical Coordinator Location: Atlanta , GA JobType: Full Time Start Date: ASAP Description: Candidate must be a medical technologist who is able to show demonstrated skills as a Referral Lab Customer Service Manager in both anatomical and clinical pathology and must have experience with technical CP and AP background. Responsible for monitoring and inputting capital, operating and personnel budgets, regular reviews of expenditures, evaluate vendor products, develops criteria for determining vendor selection and recommends vendors which best meets the department. Will also assist, as needed, in developing policies/procedures, identify capital equipment needs, assist in preparing salary and non-salary budget projections, and ensure that all activities comply with established departmental, hospital, and regulatory guidelines. QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree in medical technology or chemical, physical, or biological science.
Other bachelor's degree will be accepted if graduated from an accredited school of medical technology if science and math course meets requriements of certifying agency. EDUCATION EXCEPTION: A bachelor's degree may be waived for a medical technologist who was MT (ASCP) certified in the years prior to the bachelor's degree requirement by the ASCP and a HEW/HHS technologist certified by Health and Human Services. Five years of medical technology experience which must include four years in a supervisory capacity. Certification or eligibility for certification by one of the following accreditation agencies: MT (ASCP) or categorical, MT (HEW), MT (HHS), MT (AMT), MT (NCA), CHT (ABHI).
Certification must be obtained within 18 months of cumulative employment as a medical technologist in the state of Georgia. Exception: HLA technicians must be certified within 18 months of completing 12 month training period.
