Summary : Assist physicians and nurses with clinic preparations and patient documentation as a registered or certified Medical Assistant. Inventory and order medical supplies. Ensure equipment is cleaned and maintained per departmental protocol. Obtain pre-authorizations as required.

Requirements: High school diploma or GED required. Completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited institution or program recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) preferred. Medical terminology required. Satisfactory completion of WorkSteps evaluation prior to hire. DEMONSTRATED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Ability to maintain confidentiality of medical information. Computer knowledge with minimum 35 wpm typing speed preferred. Ability to multi-task. Willingness to adapt to ongoing changes in a patient care environment. Excellent customer service skills to identify patient/employer needs and facilitating action to meet those needs. Bilingual Spanish preferred. Active Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification and proof of current membership from American Medical Technologist (AMT), OR Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (CNCCT). Relevant life support training as determined by assigned department. May include BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC or other certification as required by the department.
