The Quality Control Coordinator for Koch Pipeline Company, L.P. (KPL) will be responsible for operations including both crude and refined products pipeline systems. Qualified candidates must be able to make sound economic decisions, ensure incident prevention, drive predictable execution and achieve competitive results. Successful candidates must also understand and comply with all Federal, state, and company laws and regulations.
Responsibilities will include:
Establish and maintain a Quality Assurance Program to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Develop and define quality specifications consistent with industry standards and practices for crude and refined products.
Provide oversight of quality specifications that are part of KPL Tariff. Ensure adherence of shippers to tariff for direct connections, bulk shipments and trucks into KPL system.
Owns KPL RVP Monitoring Program for crude system. Program includes both manual and on-line analyzer sampling and analysis. Includes technical support of on-line analyzers, accuracy, up-time performance and vendor relationships.
Owns key quality monitoring as required by tariff for BS&W, H2S, Gravity, Corrosion etc.
Develop and maintain a quality Incident tracking system with measures.
KPL Lead for quality incidents or investigations.
Key interface for Flint Hills Resources (FHR) crude supply, refined products and chemicals.
Work Experience, Skills, and Education Required
10 + years of pipeline or refinery experience with quality programs for crude and refined products.
Knowledge of industry quality standards/practices for crude and refined products.
Knowledge of analytical testing protocols and ASTM test methods.
Knowledge of crude chemistry.
Technical and equipment knowledge of on-line quality (RVP/H2S) analyzers.
Critical thinking, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Good communicator both verbal and written
High School diploma or equivalent
Work Experience, Skills and Education Preferred
Two year Technical Degree or four year Bachelor’s Degree
Frequently lifts, carries, or otherwise moves and positions equipment
Frequently works in hot, cold, or inclement climate conditions
Frequently climbs ladders and stairs to reach equipment
Position requires the ability to respond to calls 24/7 for emergency response
Position requires travel of up to 25 %
Position requires the ability to wear a respirator and to pass a respirator fit test
Position requires the ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, DOT drug screen, and pre-hire HAZWOPER physical
This role is subject to the Transportation Workers Identifications Credentialing rule or TWIC and requires the successful candidate to obtain a TWIC identification badge within a specific time period.
