Provides eLearning and classroom instruction to Juvenile Probation employees utilizing current courseware applications for education and training annual requirements within the JDAI guidelines and Arizona Youth Assessment System.

Position could report to Mesa or Durango.

Position Qualifications:

Minimum education and/or experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and at least five (5) years of eLearning and instructional experience. An equivalent combination of education and job related experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must possess excellent writing skills. Must have the ability to create electronic coursework and training; design documents. Must have good problem-solving skills. Must have the ability to relate well with both business and technical staff; ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.

NOTE: Degrees/credits must be from an academically accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) or the Council for Higher Education (CHEA).

Essential Job Tasks:

Works with management and users to gather requirements. Acts in liaison capacity with other developments, divisions, and organizations to resolve problems. Develops, administers, and publishes open list of projects, problems, and assigned tasks. Performs other duties and projects as directed by manager. Utilizes technology to deliver meaningful educational opportunities. Performs the role of Instructional Developer, Design Consultant to create projects with high levels of complexity. Demonstrates deep subject matter expertise in multiple areas: learning tools, disciplines, skills, communication, consulting approach, relationship building . Demonstrates expert level skill in Instructional and Interactive educational offerings. Performs some or all specialist roles at high-intermediate to expert skill levels: Adobe Captivate or other equivalent asynchronous eLearning development tools, audio and video recording / editing, JavaScript, Adobe Flash. Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign or other graphic software used for material development. Ability to manage multiple, concurrent training-design projects and timelines in a fast-paced and changing environment. Solves problems in flexible and innovative ways to meet clients’ needs while providing a high level of service. Produces product documentation of design process including Story Boards or similar system. Designs and develops online course, self-paced eLearning, performance-support materials, and bended solutions. Communicates clearly and effectively, fostering candid dialogue, and seeking feedback. Interacts with all levels of the organization to identify developmental needs. Conducts needs analyses and recommends training or other appropriate intervention that addresses the need. Consults with internal and external customers regarding training issues. Recommends and implements appropriate education solutions. Responds to customer inquiries received in person, via telephone and e-mail, using a record database, other available resources, and excellent interpersonal skills. Assists with operational functions of the training program, as needed, in collaboration with department teammates. Works with all levels of employees within the Juvenile Probation of Maricopa County, with other court departments and outside agencies. Complies with training program guidelines established by Administrative Order of the Arizona Supreme Court. Leads and/or participates in focus groups related to training projects and issues, as needed. The successful candidate must be able to understand all policies, procedures, instructions, rules and regulations (including all safety training and safety information) associated with this position which are written in English. In addition, the successful candidate must be able to appropriately respond to these and, where needed, provide reports, presentations, information or communications in English.
