The American Red Cross has been there to provide lifesaving blood for those in need for more than 50 years. If you are ready for immense job satisfaction working with an organization whose mission saves lives, we invite you to bring your leadership and phlebotomy skills to The American Red Cross.

Our Collection Specialists spend each day leading a team of Collection Techs working at mobile blood drives. In this role you will also be assessing the eligibility of a donor through confidential health histories and performing phlebotomy on healthy volunteer donors. The work is repetitive – we have to guarantee the consistency of the blood supply – but the variety comes in the places visited and the diverse donors at each drive.

Scheduling: Schedules for our collection staff members are determined by the blood drives scheduled for the week. Red Cross collects blood during the week, on weekends and holidays. Hours vary daily averaging 8-10 hours including paid commute time in a company vehicle. Red Cross provides work schedules 2-3 weeks in advance, although changes may be necessary. Candidates must confirm availability for flexibility in scheduling. 12 weeks paid training in Columbus, OH is provided.

Position is non-exempt, dependent upon experience and includes an excellent benefits package. If you’re interested in a community-oriented and rewarding position working with healthy populations, we invite you to explore the rewards of working on our team. When you join the Red Cross, you will enjoy many rewards including competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, opportunity for advancement and the gratification of making a real difference. As an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer, well-qualified women, minorities, veterans and persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
