Golf Pro Shop Assistants support with the daily operation of a golf pro shop. This encompasses management of the golf cart fleet and driving range, merchandising, and tournament coordination. Additional duties comprise of maintaining inventory of golf related items, cash handling, interacting with the public including golf association members, and helping with outside services on a regular basis. This position reports directly to the Pro Shop Manager. Vacancies are anticipated at various City of Phoenix golf courses throughout the valley.

SALARY

Starting pay for this position is $10.73 per hour. This position is classified as part-time and does not include benefits.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Requires one year of customer service and cash handling experience.

Moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds may be required.

Employment is contingent upon the employee meeting background checks and fingerprinting standards for positions that work with children.

Working irregular hours, shifts, weekends, holidays, and evenings may be required.

An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered.

Requires working outside in a variety of environmental extremes such as heat, cold, rain, air pollution, and dust.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– The job requirements listed above, plus:
Previous golf experience is highly preferred.

Experience working in a golf pro shop.

Experience organizing golf leagues and tournaments.

Experience working with electronic tee links (EZLinks) and point of sale.

PGA/LPGA membership or apprentice.
