The Industrial Fibers Business Unit Leader has overall responsibility for ensuring safe, reliable and efficient operations of the manufacturing unit(s) and effective direction of all supporting operational activities to drive continuous improvement in performance to meet targeted business goals.
Specific accountabilities include the following:
Work with Leadership Teams to develop, communicate and implement business plans to meet short and long term business needs.
Champion and implement change projects and processes that support continuous improvement.
Achieve cost reduction targets through continuous improvement activities, cost and capacity productivity improvements and conversion cost reductions. Have complete knowledge of the cost drivers for the manufacturing unit and ensure that budgeted and forecasted cost targets are met.
Ensure roles and responsibilities are understood by all unit employees and that all ESSH requirements and projects are implemented. Additionally, ensure that all ESSH incidents are reported in a timely manner, investigated and corrective actions are taken in order to continuously improve the ESSH processes.
Plan and implement company systems and programs to preserve capital assets and effectively manage working capital.
Provide leadership and support to ensure that targeted manufacturing, customer and quality deliverables are met.
As a Site Leadership Team member, act as a change-agent and champion site initiatives that support the long-term viability of the site and its respective businesses.
Maintain good working relationships with other operations and staff functions to provide counsel and assistance in defining and achieving plant-wide results.
Provide leadership to set standards and expectations for the plant and department that promote employee engagement, teamwork, trust, ownership, excellence, creativity, innovation and growth.
Ensure that objectives are clear for each position and provide timely performance feedback.
Promote results oriented engagement through effective communications and goal alignment.
Create a learning environment to allow all team members to contribute at the maximum potential.
A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related technical field
A minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in a chemical manufacturing environment with demonstrated results. Management of multiple operations desired.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of environmental safety and health policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of cost accounting principles, accounting practices, reports and budgets.
Demonstrated customer service and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
