The Chair is the executive officer of the Department and is responsible to the Chancellor through the Dean of the College of Art & Design and the Executive Vice Chancellor & Provost. The Chair provides leadership for the educational programs, budgeting, and focus of the Department and assumes responsibility for its quality, effectiveness, and progress. Teach undergraduate courses as deemed suitable based on faculty's background and Department program needs. Participate on College and Department committees, as assigned; participate in research or scholarly work; and perform service to the University and community.
Terminal degree (Master's or equivalent in Interior Design or a related field) and/or substantial professional practice and administrative experience. Candidates should have distinguished records of teaching, scholarship, and/or significant professional accomplishments. They should be able to demonstrate academic administrative experience including development, personnel, and budget management.

The Department of Interior Design has 7 full time faculty positions and 7 adjunct instructors serving over 200 majors. Entrance into the Interior Design program is by a competitive, selective admissions process and leads to a Bachelor of Interior Design degree (BID). The program is CIDA and NASAD accredited, and has been ranked for numerous years in the top 15 university programs of Interior Design by DesignIntelligence. As a unit in the College of Art and Design, which is comprised of the Department of Interior Design and the Schools of Art, Architecture, and Landscape Architecture, the department shares unique opportunities for collaboration, community outreach, research initiatives and resources.
