Position Purpose :|
Contribute to the profitability of Peabody Energy by participating as a team member in the early development of company wide major new mine capital projects including the development and preparation of detailed mine and facilities plans, development of permitting plans and interface with environmental departments to insure timely filing of permit applications, development and updating of projects schedules and preparation of comprehensive cost estimates for the projects.
Principal Accountabilities :
Assist in the review and development of detailed mine and facilities plans for new mines using a stage gated process.
Work directly with all engineering & technical services and operations personnel, as it relates to mine plans and planning future mining projects.
Implement project management tools from inception of the project work to track schedule and cost estimates throughout the stage gated process.
Provide services to various corporate groups such as business development, land, generation development, safety, maintenance, sales and marketing, purchasing, executive management, etc.
Job Requirements :
BS degree in Engineering, Registered Professional Engineer minimum of 8 years experience, with knowledge of surface and underground mine engineering, permitting and development processes. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, working knowledge of engineering software (i.e. Autocad, Survcadd, Vulcan, etc.), SAP operating systems, Microsoft Project and or Primavera, Microsoft office products and other engineering and/or accounting related software. Experience at an operating mine required.
Location and Work Schedule :
Located in St. Louis office – will require periodic travel to all Peabody locations. Schedule – 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday with overtime and weekends as required.
