Salaries are subject to adjustment and may increase and decrease each fiscal year.
New employees hired by Washoe County School District are normally placed on the entry step (step one) of the grade of the position.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Under general supervision, performs a variety of diagnostic, maintenance and repair work on various musical instruments, including brass, woodwind, string, and percussion. Performs related work as required.
EXEMPLARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyzes failures, performs repairs and a variety of routine maintenance on musical instruments; maintains proper documentation of work orders, completed repairs, and instruments sent to vendors; establishes and maintains an orderly library of manuals required for maintenance and repair; and establishes and maintains effective communication with shop personnel, administrators, principals, and teachers.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
Education/Experience: Any education and experience that would provide the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and skills would be:
1. Equivalent to a high school diploma;
AND
2. Certificate of completion as a Professional Band Instrument Repair Technician from an accredited instrument repair school;
OR
3. Three (3) years of verifiable and current, full-time, paid experience in the repair and maintenance of a variety of musical instruments.
Knowledge of: Repair and maintenance of a variety of musical instruments; repair theory and procedures; and an understanding of sting instruments is desirable.
Skill at: Utilizing appropriate hand and power tools; applying appropriate safety procedures required in the use of tools, chemicals and other materials; working under pressure and meeting deadlines; communicating effectively, verbally and in writing; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work; and experience repairing brass, woodwind instrument repair, along with experience repairing string instruments.
Licenses/Certificates: Possession of a valid Nevada driver license with a driving record acceptable to the District. Certificate of completion from a Band Instrument Repair Program.
Terms of Employment:
This is a 40 hour per week, 260 day position.
