This job involves bringing up and verifying internally developed storage adapters for Power Systems as well as System Z and Total Storage. The engineer will be responsible for initial power up and verification of the adapter along with identifying defects and finding root cause of these issues. The applicant will have a strong electronics background and lab skills who is comfortable with using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers. They are able to program and debug cards using RISCwatch and I2C tools as well as write scripts needed to bring up early user hardware. This requires 5 years of experience in the design, development, and debug of embedded systems. The engineer will be familiar with SAS adapters and the SAS subsystem with additional experience with Microprocessor and DDR2 and DDR3 memory systems. The candidate will have as BSEE degree or higher.
At least 5 years experience in embedded systems design and debugging
Readiness to travel 10% travel annually
At least 8 years experience in embedded systems design and debugging
At least 1 year experience in IBM Power Systems
At least 1 year experience in SAS/SCSI/Storage Adapters
At least 1 year experience in AIX/Linux/IBMi operating systems
