Candidate will work in an environment where performance is based on pre-determined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) or Acceptable Levels of Performance (ALPs). Work will include optimization of telecommunication system operations and resource utilization. The candidate will provide assistance to users in accessing and using business systems. Sets up and maintains the following devices: CISCO, Adtran, Juniper, Promina, Safenet, Ciena, Sycamore, Ericsson. Analyzes system faults and troubleshoots and runs diagnostic tests on hardware and inside plant and outside plant, and long haul telecommunications lines to detect problems. Installs developed software during various phases of testing. Installs and removes components and cards in various systems. Installs, tests, connects, terminates/re-terminates fiber optic and copper cables to include Cat-5e/6 and multi-pair cable for serial circuits and coaxial cable. Reviews, prepares and updates documentation for systems, tests and installation of hardware and software. Investigates and recommends methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Initiates preventive maintenance and repairs on hardware and system / environment problems. Administers solutions for multiple projects with varying schedules, and interacts with vendors for trouble calls. Performs detailed and technically in-depth site survey functions at user locations as required in order to assess/analyze site preparedness and develop implementation plans. This individual will coordinate with users, facility personnel, network manager(s), controllers, and commercial carriers to provide installation, cutover, activation, deactivation planning and execution of telecommunication services. Performs installation/de-installation/upgrade/interface actions associated with network components at user locations. Facilitates and finalizes all aspects of site acceptance. Provide functional guidance, supervision, technical support, training, quality assurance, and quality control to Network Installation Technicians. Supports senior staff as required and ensures customer requirements and project milestones are met.

Required Skills: -Must be a U.S. Citizen

-Must have, or be able to obtain, a current passport -Must have excellent oral and written communication skills Preferred Skills: -DOD 8750 Certification(s) (e.g. CISSP, Security+, Network+)
-ITIL v3 Foundation Certification
