Responsibilities for this Position:
General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems (GDAIS) has an immediate opening for RedHat System Administrator to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to work with some of our nations fundamental defense services. GDAIS employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will be responsible for the installation and management of multiuser computer systems and local area networks. Key Responsibilities
Red Hat Linux Administrator handle the acquisition, installation, operations, maintenance and usage of a multiuser computer system, including local area networks. These employees install server hardware and peripheral components, and must have knowledge of operating systems including Linux, HP-UX, Windows, Apache etc. System Administration is responsible for loading and verifying correct operation of the operating systems and the various subcomponents. This includes managing login accounts and file access rights, establishing DNS servers, and developing various software scripts to enhance productivity. In addition, this employee backs up systems and maintains data files and control procedures.

Support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the GDAIS culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures.
Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure GDAISs services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices.

Basic Qualifications:
Candidates should demonstrate sophisticated problem solving and organizational skills, as well as the ability to think critically and logically to effectively implement and maintain GDAISs multiuse computer system and networks.

System Administrator must have a bachelors degree in a specialized area, field or the equivalent, and a minimum of five to eight years of related experience. Applicants with a masters degree and three to five years of related experience also qualify.

At least 5 years direct experience maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers. Experience with v6.X a plus. Specific skills with:
Virtual machine management via KVM
Clustering / high availability
SELinux configuration / security best practices
Software management and patching
Logical volume management, disk multipathing
Writing/maintaining bash scripts
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within 4 moths of hire.

Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications (Preferred):
Experience managing HP BladeSystem hardware/infrastructure (Proliant systems)
HP-UX system administration experience.
