This position requires occasional weekend and evening work as well as on-call responsibilities.
Responsible for the analysis, design, development, maintenance, documentation and installation of PeopleSoft HRMS and other UW supported applications. Projects will be assigned and reviewed by Project Leader or other designee.
Provide quality system support for assigned applications and projects by:
Designing and developing application modifications and/or computer programs for very complex systems in a specified technical area.
Responsible for ensuring all assigned projects and/or tasks, are completed on a timely basis.
Working in tandem with customers and other computer professionals to analyze, plan and document application and project objectives, data and requirements.
Achieving project objectives within time, resource and cost limitations.
Planning and conducting effective applications testing.
Identifying and arriving at resolutions, issues and problems impacting complex systems with critical University-wide effects.
Provide Project Leadership on assigned projects by:
Leading Individual projects and/or tasks within the scope of the assigned application
Performing project planning and analysis for assigned projects, including estimates of resources and timelines.
Develop a cohesive client partnership by:
Develop in-depth understanding of ongoing functional operations.
Communicating effectively and honestly with clients on very complex technical issues.
Preparing and educating clients for installation and maintenance of systems.
Acting in a consulting capacity to clients for complex technical issues.
Keep current with vendor and product enhancements and features.
Develop and Maintain documentation for assigned projects by:
Documenting program development and modifications.
Bachelor's Level Degree and two years of computer programming/application development and business process analysis experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Prefer background and experience with PeopleSoft Applications.
Prefer understanding of business functions and experience in higher education.
Prefer experience with:
Oracle database environment to include SQL, tables, views, packages, and triggers
