Location: School of Leadership Studies, Kansas State University,

The School of Leadership Studies at Kansas State University is a
value-centered learning community that promotes both curricular
studies and co-curricular activities, integrating thought and
action. The School's faculty/staff endeavor to provide learning
experiences aligned with the mission of "developing knowledgeable,
ethical, caring, inclusive leaders for a diverse and changing
world" for the approximate 1200 undergraduate students in the
program. The School of Leadership Studies provides such an
environment through three interrelated avenues: 1) the
administration of an interdisciplinary minor in Leadership Studies,
2) the facilitation of a learning community of Leadership Studies
students in which core values are explored and modeled, and 3)
programming efforts, scholarship and creative endeavors which
emphasize each aspect of our mission. All faculty/staff in the
School of Leadership Studies are expected to advance this
mission.

The successful candidate for this position will teach core courses
of the leadership minor, advise undergraduate students, and support
the non-profit focus of the leadership minor through an active
research program. In addition, the successful candidate for this
position will be a member of the faculty of the School of
Leadership Studies and will report to the College of Education for
promotion and tenure. We value qualified candidates who can bring a
variety of backgrounds and experiences to our program.

Responsibilities

1. Teach undergraduate courses in leadership

2. Engage in research, scholarship, and creative endeavors in
support of the non-profit leadership focus

3. Support curriculum development and programming efforts of the
non-profit leadership focus

4. Serve on the faculty team for non-profit leadership

5. Seek extramural funding

6. Advise undergraduate students in the leadership minor

7. Participate in service activities at the local, state, national,
and/or internationals levels

8. Serve on departmental, college, and university committees

Required Qualifications

1. Earned doctorate in leadership studies or a related field
(completed by August 2011)

2. Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the post secondary
level

3. Evidence of or potential for scholarly activity

4. Evidence of a strong commitment to mentoring students

5. Evidence of commitment to equity and an ability to work
effectively with diverse populations

Preferred Qualifications

1. Evidence of scholarly research and /or publications in
non-profit leadership

2. Evidence of ability to obtain extramural funding

3. Evidence of service beyond the classroom
