Job Description
The Funds Network program, sponsored by the Fidelity Professional Services Group (PSG) aims to deliver a new platform and world class experience for our Mutual Fund partners. New capabilities will be delivered in a series of staged, incremental releases over a three year period along three key dimensions: Next Generation Web, Reporting, and Workflow; Contract Management; and Investment Firm Management.
As a Senior Systems Software Engineer in Strategic Investments Products and Data (SIPD), you will be the technical lead working as part of a team to design, develop and maintain Fidelity''s Funds Network web platform, which will include the integration of third party Contract Management and Investment Firm Management systems and inter Fidelity reporting applications.
Primary Responsibilities
Design, document and develop solutions forJ2EE web applications - including functional analysis, technical analysis, coding and unit testing.
Provide technical design and direction for the Funds Network web platform
Adhere to PWI Architecture standards and best practices.
Translate business requirements into detailed technical designs.
Write concise and clear technical specifications based on analysis of business requirements
Ensure quality and performance of deliverables.
Identify efficiency opportunities
Adhere to project timelines, address and resolve technical issues.
Work closely with systems teams, both onshore and offshore in China.
Mentor more junior software engineers in providing quality software product.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor''s degree in a technical discipline or its equivalent preferred.
At least 5 years experience in software development.
Experience with Java/J2EE and other server-side technologies.
Experience with JSP/CSS/HTML/JavaScript.
Experience with Spring, XML and webserver technologies preferred.
Hands-on experience with UNIX and ClearCase desirable.
Knowledge of rich internet technologies a plus.
Knowledge and Skills
Experience using agile methodology is desirable.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve problems and formulate recommendations.
Ability to multi-task, manage time and priorities, and meet scheduled deadlines.
Ability to work as part of a technical team and collaborate with other members of the team to set technical direction.
Works under minimal direction as an individual contributor.
