Vice President of Human Resources

at our suburban St. Louis, MO headquarters.

Role and Responsibilities:
Position Overview:
As a senior leader of the organization, the Vice President of Human Resources will play an integral role in the planning and delivering the strategic direction of the organization. This position will lead and develop the strategic human resources function, and oversee people strategies including but not limited to recruitment, talent management, compensation and learning and development.

The role requires a highly motivated, senior human resources executive with a track record of hiring and developing talent and driving effective process, infrastructure and best practices, all in a high growth environment. Essence Health and Lumeris are in the middle of a tremendous growth period in the midst of a rapidly changing industry. Role and Responsibility:
Manage and develop the company’s recruiting infrastructure, investments, programs and processes, support hiring managers in achieving their hiring goals in a high growth environment.
Ensure that the highly motivated work force is continually developed and that paths for promotion and progress within the organization are clearly defined.
Manage the administrative infrastructure, systems and processes regarding the company’s human resources, including operations in India
Manage, and optimize the company’s compensation, benefits and performance management processes.
Act as the company’s “Chief People and Culture Officer”, driving initiatives, events and processes that further cultivate a culture of high performance that is grounded in values that promote cohesion and a high sense of urgency within the employee workforce.

Additional Responsibilities

Develop staffing strategies and implementation plans and programs to identify talent within and outside the corporation for positions of responsibility. Identify appropriate and effective external sources for candidates for all levels within the company.
Ensure organizational capability through the identification of key competencies, individual and organizational development planning, talent acquisition, retention and succession planning.
Continually assess the competitiveness of all staffing programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries and markets.
Establish credibility throughout the organization with management and the employees in order to be an effective listener and problem solver of people issues.
Develop appropriate policies and programs for effective management of the people resources of the corporation.
Continually assess and manage an effective Performance Management System that aligns organizational goals and objectives with employee outcomes and a high performing culture. Continually assess the competitiveness of all staffing programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries and markets.
Included in this area, but not limited only to the following, would be programs for employee relations, affirmative action, sexual harassment, employee complaints, external education and career development.
Maintain knowledge of international HR policies, programs, laws and issues. Understand the differences of domestic and international policies (particular India) and programs and coordinate the integration of all such programs
Manage other key HR areas such as relocation, employee communication, employee safety and health and community relations.
Foster a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
Lead efforts in building a modern work environment, incorporating practices like telecommuting and flexible work hours.
Manage and Lead the organizations’ facilities support function. Aid in design and maximization of new and future office spaces.
Manage HR department budget and other financial measures, along with employee performance and provide leadership through definition of roles and responsibilities, goal/objective setting, regular communication, coaching and development.
Maintain compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations related to employment, labor, tax, benefits, payroll, etc.; provide technical expertise and guidance, as appropriate; access and utilizing internal and external resources, when necessary.

Experience - Qualifications - and Education:
An experienced leader and human resource executive with appropriate industry experience, preferably in the technology and healthcare field. An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image.
Undergraduate degree required. Master’s Degree in Human Resources or Organizational Development or similar field highly desirable.
Significant leadership and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build and enhance a strategic HR function in a company experiencing rapid growth.
Prior experience leading significant recruitment mandates in rapidly growing company.
Demonstrated success in guiding an organization through transformational cultural and process change..
Excellent communications skills a must as well as ability to work with technical individuals.
Minimum 10+ years of experience in a leadership role in a Human Resources function, including managing HR department staff. Experience in the High Tech industry an important plus.
A minimum of 5+ years of previous HR managemenet experience.
Broad HR generalist background with particular strength in the areas of recruiting, organizational development & effectiveness, workforce planning, training and professional development, and performance management.
High energy and passion for delivering high impact people strategies.
