Would you like to help revolutionize the world of Analog/Custom Circuit Design & Layout? The Virtuoso GXL Modgen & Analog Placement team is creating the capabilities that will drive the next revolution in chip design productivity. As part of the team charged with developing the next generation algorithms and methodology for analog circuit level layout, you could help create the analog designer's desktop of the future. Working from within the Custom IC business unit of Cadence Design Systems you'll have access to designers at all the largest IC design companies and will be working to fulfill their productivity needs.
The Virtuoso GXL team is looking for an exceptional individual skilled in C++ development, IC layout techniques and custom circuit design. Your excellent skills in EDA algorithms, specifically custom routing and analog placement, and a familiarity with analog circuit design and layout will be greatly appreciated. We design a team player with great communication skills who is as comfortable discussing a circuit design with one of our worldwide customers as they are working closely with our development team in Pittsburgh. Masters or higher in EE or CS and relevant experience desired.
Primary responsibilities include designing, implementing, verifying and maintaining physical synthesis software for analog integrated circuit layout. Duties entail: the design, implementation, verification and maintenance of software modules in the Virtuoso GXL product suite with special emphasis on developing and integrating EDA placement algorithms. The ability to interact with analog design engineers throughout the industry and with cross-functional teams to define product requirements is a necessity. A solid understanding of semiconductor integrated circuit technology, analog integrated circuit design, and layout of analog circuits is also required. A strong software engineering background is mandatory with emphasis on C++/Unix experience. A working knowledge of Cadence's DFII framework and the SKILL language are highly desired.
- M.S. or higher in EE or CS
- Significant Software Development experience (C++)
- Background in custom layout (transistor level) design and EDA algorithms
- Proficient in speaking and writing English
