Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

The TLC Specialist will serve as an academic and personal resource to students seeking ways to succeed at UNO. The individual will primarily advise 2nd year students in TLC and work with students transferring to UNO within TLC. The specialist will teach a minimum of 3 sections of US 2020 (TLC Sophomore Seminar). Additionally, the specialist will meet with students on academic probation to help them create a plan to be successful. The specialist will develop and coordinate the TLC alumni outreach program and TLC graduation celebrations each semester. The specialist will also work with students and staff to plan co-curricular programming to enhance the community and the overall success of the students.

Minimum Qualifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities. Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in education, sociology, or related field. Required Experience: Student advisement experience to include teaching and/or workshop facilitation experience. Experience working with college students in a university environment.

Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Education or related field preferred. Commitment to working with diverse students and in a team environment.
