Assistant Coach - Defensive Coordinator
Job Summary/Basic Function:
Kenyon College is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Coach - Defensive Coordinator. This is a full-time appointment. Kenyon College, located 50 miles northeast of Columbus, is a highly selective liberal arts college and a member of the North Coast Athletic Conference and the NCAA Division III. Responsibilities of the Assistant Coach - Defensive Coordinator: The primary duties of this position focus on assisting in the overall development of the football program, including the successful recruitment of qualified student athletes who will represent the college competitively in the NCAC while keeping the primary focus on the academic rigor required at Kenyon. Principle duties include: developing and implementing defensive game plans and practice plans in conjunction with the head coach, recruiting, arranging travel, managing budgets, coaching, instructing, strength training and conditioning, tracking equipment and developing alumni contacts. Secondary duties include administrative, teaching, and/or game management responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred; previous collegiate coaching experience as an assistant or coordinator essential. The ideal candidate should demonstrate exceptional leadership, a commitment to working in a NCAA Division III intercollegiate athletics setting, and an understanding and appreciation of the principles that guide Division III athletics. This individual must also possess strong written and oral communication skills, solid planning and organizational abilities, and demonstrate knowledge of NCAA and NCAC rules and regulations.
