Description

This position performs administrative and related work of a broad and varied nature. The Admin will produce letters, source documents, reports, etc. using a personal computer. This position requires good judgment and office knowledge in such matters as routing mail and telephone calls, scheduling appointments, and maintaining effective file systems. The administrative assistant reports to the functional manager and supports the department.

Responsibilities

Accurately and professionally prepares written communications for the department.

Professionally handles incoming telephone calls and visitors

Keeps accurate schedules for appointments, meetings, presentations as well as conference rooms

Assists in preparing reports

Supports department related activities in a variety of ways

May work on assignments from other related departments

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Administrative/office certificate or coursework in business

one year department related support experience or administrative assistant experience

Knowledge of more than one software package and experience with Microsoft Suites

Strong communications skills

Strong organizational skills

preferred two of more years of departmental clerical support or admin assistant experience.
