OSU-Cascades is recruiting for an Admissions Advisor. This is a 12 month, full time position.
OSU-Cascades, located in Bend, is Oregon State University's only branch campus and the only transfer institution in the Oregon University System. Started in the fall of 2001, it now enrolls more than 700 students in a range of bachelor's and master's degree programs, with the upper division courses for four-year degrees offered through Oregon State University and the University of Oregon. Many students take their lower-division courses from Central Oregon Community College, where the Cascades Campus is co-located. The OSU-Cascades Campus is a small friendly campus, often selected by students for its small class sizes, the more intimate environment that they do not find on a large campus, and because they get to know faculty. The size of the faculty encourages a level of interdisciplinary interaction which far exceeds that normally experienced at a larger institution. Bend, nearly the geographic center of the State, is Central Oregon's most populous city. It is bounded on the east by the High Desert and on the west by the Cascades Mountains, both of which provide a multitude of recreational opportunities
The Admissions Advisor is responsible for planning and implementing OSU-Cascades Campus recruitment activities and new student programs in support of the campus enrollment goals and strategic plan. The Admissions Advisor represents OSU-Cascades to multiple constituencies, including prospective students, their families, and school/community contacts. Additionally, this position supports academic programs and student support services as part of the OSU-Cascades Enrollment Services team.
30% - Execution of Recruitment plans:
Represent OSU-Cascades at college fairs, high school visitations, community colleges and other areas as needed. Coordinator will maintain reports assessing the effectiveness of each activity. The Admissons Advisor is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships on behalf of the university with high school and community college personnel, prospective students and their families, cultural and ethnic communities, and alumni. Internally, Admissions Advisor will establish a strong working relationship with other OSU-Cascades, OSU, UO and COCC staff to assist all parties to attract and recruit successful students to OSU-Cascades and promote the strategic plan and enrollment goals of OSU-Cascades.
20% - Counsel and advise prospective students:
In collaboration with the OSU and UO General Academic Advisors, the Admissions Advisor will meet with visiting students and their families and advise/counsel them on OSU-Cascades academic programs, student services, campus life, admission requirements and deadlines. This requires up-to-date knowledge of current campus policies, admissions and financial aid procedures, academic programs, support services, and personnel for appropriate referral.
15% - Implement and evaluate prospective student programs:
Implement and evaluate prospective student programs:
that meet the needs of new OSU-Cascades students for first year, transfer, and graduate student information. Develop and organize new student programs in collaboration with the Enrollment Services and Student Success Center. Programs include prospective student/preview days, student tours, new student orientation and other student events that facilitate matriculation to and retention at OSU-Cascades Campus. Coordinator is responsible for coordinating Student Admissions Leaders, including developing professional development workshops, scheduling meetings, facilitating trainings, and communicating information regarding upcoming recruit events, orientations, and campus tours. Current prospective student programs include Preview Days, College 101, and Connections to College Program, GEAR UP Program Campus Partnership, and Mosaic. Current new student programs include orientation programs for all student groups. Additional retention programs may include First Year experience and First Generation student initiatives and other student programs as identified by the Admissons Advisor.

10% - Manage the recruit function at OSU-Cascades:
Manage the recruit function at OSU-Cascades under the supervision of the Director of Enrollment Services
including recruit visits at high schools and community colleges, recruit events, college fairs, pre-college and community outreach events, orientations, and communication with prospective students. Plan and organize coverage for OSU-Cascades recruit events, by working with faculty, enrollment services and advising staff and SALs (Student Admission Leaders). Coordinate details of recruit events, delegate responsibilities, and provide assignments to support staff. Develop, organize and implement communication plans to prospective students. Evaluate effectiveness of each event and develop plans for improvement. Work to promote the strategic plan, enrollment and retention goals of OSU-Cascades.
10% - Recruitment Planning:
Development, implementation and evaluation of recruit plans for high school students, transfer students, graduate students and international students at OSU-Cascades. The coordinator organizes visitation, programming, data collection, implementation, and assessment on a quarterly basis. This requires strategic planning and independent thinking to set and modify recruitment goals. Admissions Advisor will develop and maintain plans that incorporate a calendar of recruitment activities and strategies for reaching aggressive enrollment goals. The Admissions Advisor is trained to assess and track data via the Banner and Data Warehouse systems and will recommend and implement strategies or changes to increase results. Reports will focus on situational analysis, trends, activities, and results for each target group.
5% - Insight Resume process:
Assist with the Admissions Insight Resume process. This includes being professionally trained how to read and score resumes as part of the admit decision process. The IR is part of the admission decision process for meeting minimum criteria for admission to OSU-Cascades, consideration for scholarships, and appeal decisions. Once trained, the coordinator will score independently. Upon completion of training, Coordinator will read and score Insight Resumes as part of weekly responsibilities.
5% - Recruit Communications:
Work closely with the Director of Enrollment Services and marketing staff to develop recruitment communication plans. Deliver recruit materials using email, mail, telephone or other communication methods. Ensure that materials and messages are properly aligned to the needs of each OSU-Cascades target audience. Collaborate with faculty to ensure that programs and services are effectively represented.

Bachelor's degree in discipline of choice.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong interpersonal, presentation and organization skills.
Experience with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Publisher, Information Systems.
Position requires frequent travel, night and weekend hours.
Able to lift 30 pounds or more.
Must possess a current, valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Offer of employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
