The Department of Parking and Transportation Services is seeking a highly-motivated professional to take on the duties of Associate Director. Reporting to the Director, this position will manage multiple short and long-term projects which will move the Department forward in alignment with its strategic plan. Effective relationship building with partner departments, community organizations and local government agencies is critical. Previous experience as an organizational leader at the upper management level, strong business development skills, established financial and computer skills, and highly-honed oral and written communications skills are required. UNM Parking and Transportation Services is a highly dynamic service organization, providing parking services and shuttle bus operations to the campus community. Our 75 employees average a total of 10,000 customer interactions per day, managing 11,000 parking spaces and serving 18,000 permitted customers per year, as well as supporting over 500 special events annually. Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Experience at the senior management level managing and directing the short and long-term activities of a large, multi-divisional organization of 75 employees or greater inclusive of human resource management functions such as performance management and professional development Experience in/with: Parking and/or transportation management Previous management in a higher education setting Experience working in a Unionized environment Organization-wide process improvement initiatives Successfully negotiating complex business agreements with stakeholders, partners, and suppliers Managing and evaluating the design, development, and coordination of projects with specific budgets Technology and measures/metrics associated with a parking operation Conducting and engaging employees in organization-wide strategic planning Preparing, coordinating, interpreting, and analyzing financial and administrative reports for budgets in excess of $7M; additionally responsible for the development of financial management planning data and predicting resource needs in order to develop long range plans
